Hope you are enjoying the week after Christmas! I went out today to do my returns and exchanges. It was a beautiful day (inside~lol)...Cold outside, but the sun was shining, so traveling was beautiful! A Peek In My House...

Here are a few photos from my home~Christmas decorating... The first one is the only one I created myself..."Prince of Peace"...I have a series with the names of Jesus  painted on the stars...King of Kings, Emmanuel, Jesus, Lord of Lords, Mighty God...

The next wonderful little battery candle is from Justina. She came in the shop last week to sell me some of her hand crafted goods, and gave me this...
This is my tree: Due to lack of space, I went with the tall-thin artificial tree. I really like the simplicity of putting it up :D

Here is my mantle...My dining room...

A favorite snowman...

New Arrivals for Christmas and Beyond!

Though the weather outside is extremely frightful, it being the first blizzard of the season and all, the weather inside is toasty warm and the fragrance is delightful~! Here are a few things still available. New merchandise arrives to the farm weekly. I have been pacing my ordering this year, with the uncertainty of the economy. I hope you haven't noticed too much of a difference.  I want to continue to bring you the wonderful products Bittersweet Farm is known for, and will continue to order as much as I can!

How about a snowman light to give the kids delight when they get up in the night?

New!! Just got a new shipment of these wonderfully fragrant candles!

Wouldn't this sign look great in your porch tucked in a wooden box filled with evergreens?

Snowmen continue to be the item of the season. This trio of snowmen just arrived. They had been on backorder. But you can display them all the way through March. They are slightly glittered, and will greet your guests with a smile through the long midwest winter.
STAY WARM~ENJOY!!!

Snow!!

It is finally looking alot like Christmas outside!! I hope your plans are well underway, and are delighting in all the sights, sounds, and fragrances of Christmas!
I finally got my snowmen, and gingerbread out tonight. The tree is up, but no decorations. I will finish everything on Sunday.
Almost daily I am getting new things in for your home or gift-giving. I just got a few new Billy Jacobs Christmas prints in...battery tapers...new placemats and table runners, jingle bell garlands, and candle rings!
I am still waiting for more of the 1803 Christmas candles~they should be in next week. As soon as they come in, they go out. Mistletoe Kisses has been the most popular this year. It is a very fragrant pine!
May your day be MERRY AND BRIGHT!

Christmas on the Farm is well underway...It seems many people are decorating early this year due to the wonderful (and long-awaited) warm weather we have been having. I saw a tree twinkling in a window on my way home from watching my son perform the last of three "Grease" productions @ school. When you step into the shop, see the greenery, breathe in the fragrance of pine, cranberry and cinnamon...and hear the carols playing...you will find your heart skipping a beat at the thought of the upcoming holiday! New in just this week are linens, lamps, candles, and more. Don't forget we have 2010 calendars by Legacy Publishing. They fit the Lang wall holders. We also have the pocket calendars. This Friday and Saturday is our 6th annual "Doe on the Go" girlfriend's weekend, when you bring a girlfriend or two, you all get 2 "bucks" off your purchase of $10.00 or more!! This is our busiest weekend of the year! When the "buck" is away...the "doe" goes shopping!! I hope you can come on out to the farm, the cider will be on!!!

Christmas On The Farm 2009

It is THAT TIME again!! With Christmas music playing in the background, the rich fragrance of apple, cinnamon, and sugar cookies, and the rich, warm colors of Christmas, you are sure to get into the mood for Christmas as soon as you step into the porch. Here is just a sampling of the goodies you will find @ Bittersweet Farm this holiday season...
These battery-operated taper candles are wonderful for on the wall, they flicker just like a real flame. Turn off the main lights and have a few of these going with a fragrant candle and the tree lights...you will enjoy the calm spirit of Christmas in the evening...
Hand-made wool ornament...warm up the outside of a gift, and it will become a treasured ornament!
A very small reminder of the meaning of the season...
Another favorite Billy Jacobs print! Look at the pine trees...the stone house is reminiscent of New England early housing...
An early American wrought iron candle holder looks festive decked out for Christmas!
How about this couple to add to your snowman collection?
Do you like the black & white for your decor? This looks wonderful light up with the four votives. A few berries tucked around it would make it festive!
A Pottery ornament that you can use all year. Also wonderful as package tie-on!
Hang this on your entryway to greet your guests, they are sure to appreciate your "warm welcome"!
So...Come on out to the farm to experience the warmth and fragrance of Christmas!

Winter~Fall

Photo from last year...Christmas in the front...fall in the back ;)
Yes siree, that is what we are having in Western Wisconsin...snow with a backdrop of amber, rust, and orange leaves...it's lovely. As long as you are inside!!! Surely the weather has put a damper (pardon the pun) on our autumn enjoyment...and I am still hoping/holding out for a little bit of warm, sunny weather.
In the little gift shop on the farm, all the fall merchandise is on sale. This week it is 20% off...next week (Oct 28-31) it is all 40% off. On November 2nd I will be transforming the shop into "winter wonderland"...CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE IS NOVEMBER 4-7. I know this seems late, but with Halloween on the Saturday before, I just couldn't bring myself to have a Christmas celebration on Halloween...
So plan on coming for a visit in the coming weeks. And if you cannot get here before those dates, maybe you can come for a visit on our 6th annual "Doe on the Go" girlfriend's weekend!!!! Bring a girlfriend or two, and all recieve 2 bucks off any purchase $10. or more! This is a fun weekend with lots going on all around the area...You can get your outdoor decorating boughs, and rosehips, as well as your indoor garlands, fragrances, and tree trimming pretties!
SEE YOU SOON!!

Autumn Treasures...

The colors of fall are beginning to peak here in western Wisconsin...unfortunately we have had some seriously early cold weather, and rain (though we are thankful for the rain!)...the cloudy rainy days keep us from enjoying this wonderful season as fully as we like...
So why not enjoy it inside! Turn on the fireplace or furnace(as if you haven't already!), put a few pumpkins, autumn flowers and reminders of the season (that you found on your trip to Bittersweet Farm) up around the house, and sip some cider or coffee...gaze out the window at your falling leaves of orange, yellow and red, put on some music, invite friends and family to join you and laugh!
In the meantime...look at some of the autumn treasures you will find in the shop!

AUTUMN

Well, I returned Sunday from another trip to Madison where I found more treasures to enhance your home, porch and yard. I am slowly getting things out and priced. I found a few more rusty metal pumpkins to poke in strawbales or in the yard.
I saw lots of battery operated candles. They keep improving on them. It is so amazing to walk in a booth with them flickering...I have been running one in the house continually to see how long they last. So far, it is lasting over three weeks on two AA batteries! Just think if you just turn them on once in a while, they will last for months! They are wonderful for the wall sconces...candle light on the walls with no flame to worry about!
I also picked up a couple of quilt shelves (shelves w/ bars) and new potpourri. More wonderful fragrant candles, candle holders, pumpkin pics and signs...I will get photos as I get everything put into place.
In the mean time, I hope you are enjoying the colors, and the weather!
Winners of last week's gift certificate give~aways are:
Lisa Emmons...$10.
Sharon Silver...$10.
Jan Marko...$10.
Sarah Roux...$10.
Nancy Dinger...$25
Lynda Grece...$25.
Congratulations! & Happy Shopping!!

Anniversary #5!!!

Hello everyone! I am glad to be getting back to somewhat normal routine after the wedding (click here for pics) and the next weekend laying Grandma to rest. A little dip in the road, but back on the highway now...Blogging, ordering, unpacking merchandise...Fall is my favorite, and I know it is for most of you! Though the season is already underway, I have many new things out this week.
I opened the shop the same weekend as Amery Fall Festival five years ago. It doesn't seem like five years have passed already. Thank you to everyone who has helped me, encouraged me, and shopped @ Bittersweet Farm. It has been a very rewarding adventure for me. I have learned so much from all of you! In fact at my Grandma's visitation on Monday, I was sharing some "note taking" advice w/ my nephew who is in college that I received from an Iowa customer last weekend!
I need to get things rolling out there, so before I go, I just want to extend the invitation to you to come out this week to help me celebrate! I will be doing drawings daily for a $10.00 Gift Certificate. I will do a drawing on Friday for a $25.00 Gift Certificate, and another one on Saturday!!
I also have some fresh fireside coffee to sample, along with treats, and when it gets hot, I will have cold drinks!
HAPPY WEEKEND!!
PS...You might find me on the windmill cutting bittersweet today...it will be ready by Friday and Saturday!
