Though it was FOUR DEGREES outside this morning...WE KNOW SPRING is on the way.
Really. It DOES come every year. Remembering this helps me.

The last Sunday in April actually.
I am gradually getting things out in the shop.
Here is a sampling.

Snowfall and Flowers

As much of our country is being swept over, even lashed by winter storms, it's a bit quieter here in the North land. We only had a couple of inches. Yesterday. Of course it fell on top of about 60 inches (I think that is our local number).

I saw a man walk across the street in a little WI town yesterday, and opened a mailbox door on the front of a snowbank. The box was totally buried in snow. Mail. Delivered to a snowbank in WI. I wonder if the mailman has memorized the addresses that are surely buried on the sides of the boxes...

And what was delivered to Bittersweet Farm yesterday? Flowers! As I opened boxes today and unwrapped the promise of spring...not only flowers, but eggs, rabbits, birds & sheep! I discovered within my heart a refreshing sense of anticipation! For spring, warm weather, and brighter colors after the deep muted greens and reds of winter. As much as I love them, it is nice to pack away and "lighten" up my home!

So expect to see some flowers in the coming days, and remember we have a variety of hearts for  your Valentine's Day display...Even a few new metal heart cut-outs for plunking in the snowbank...maybe you could add one by the mailbox and give the deliverer a smile. :)

Flowers Are In

They are finally here! All the flowers that were on back order finally came in today! The Shelf-sitting words are "Relax" in burgudy w/ flower, "Friends" in burgundy w/ flower and "Family" in black~no flower... for more flower photos click here.

They seem go go well together in a display. Several women have gotten a word and three flowers to display in a bay window or on a shelf. They are great on a windowsill or thick trim as well.

Garlands with flowers are popular also. We are weaving them around a porch post, a wreath, a shelf with a quilt bar or nails underneath or hung over a valance to bring a little summer inside!

These flowers on spindles sold out on day one last time they came in...come check them out! Get one for a friend and give a smile!...

Flowers Anyone?

It was a very busy day for me unpacking all those boxes, pricing, and waiting on customers...but was it fun! I love my job!. I have so many wonderful people who come and visit me. I enjoy helping with arrangements, whether it be a floral arrangement in a "water pitcher" as I did today for Lori, or a wall or garden arrangement.
Fun Fun Fun!

SO!!!! Here are promised pictures. I have to tell you  that some of the flowers are gone already! I was amazed that as soon as I pulled them out, they were snatched up. I will be reordering though, and they do come fast from that company if they have them in stock!

Lighted twigs...burn for 10,000 hours. These are tall, I will be getting smaller ones in. They are on backorder for now.
FLOWERS!!!!! They are hot hot hot right now!
Still plenty of the Family w/ flower and Dream w/ flower left.
A few new signs came in. "Friends Gather Here" ONLY $2.50!!!
Take a look at the floral candle wreath, these are wonderful. As you can see, they double as a bird's nest!

Check out the new plates/platters and signs!
I also have some new linens. If you need a cheery table runner for spring, you can find one at
Bittersweet Farm!

Hope you enjoyed browsing...Happy May Day...I hope you find flowers on your door tomorrow!

Fun Stuff

Tuesday was the gift market...I am very excited about the new things that will be coming! The jewelry has been a big hit, so I ordered more. The bracelets have been the most popular. They make wonderful gifts for Confirmation, graduation, or for yourself! ;) I found bling rings this time too! They are stretchy like the bracelets, so one size fits all! I LOVE them!

Also on the way are baskets, floral, birdhouses, signs for garden and for in your house, FLOWERS (have been so popular, I have reordered twice already!)
Surprise sale: 20% off everything Saturday, April 24th!!!!

Autumn Treasures...

The colors of fall are beginning to peak here in western Wisconsin...unfortunately we have had some seriously early cold weather, and rain (though we are thankful for the rain!)...the cloudy rainy days keep us from enjoying this wonderful season as fully as we like...
So why not enjoy it inside! Turn on the fireplace or furnace(as if you haven't already!), put a few pumpkins, autumn flowers and reminders of the season (that you found on your trip to Bittersweet Farm) up around the house, and sip some cider or coffee...gaze out the window at your falling leaves of orange, yellow and red, put on some music, invite friends and family to join you and laugh!
In the meantime...look at some of the autumn treasures you will find in the shop!
