I Heart Fresh

WHEW! The transformation (tornado as I often refer to it) is mostly complete!!! Christmas is OVER in the shop and HEARTS are happening at Bittersweet Farm!

My very large black bookcase sold on Saturday last weekend, and Sunday I was headed down to Madison for my tri-yearly shopping trip. It was good timing because I didn't have any back up display pieces for such a large area. Sadly the guy I usually buy furniture from was not there!!! But I found a few pieces that I like as well, and packed up the truck and came home Monday.

Tuesday I was prepping for a meeting I have on Sunday, and working on my books, so I didn't get to "tornado" until Wednesday, and Thursday. It was a BIG job for two days and only two hands...oops! I had four hands for a few minutes after I called my sister to help me move out another large shelf that we had sold on our auction~I am so thankful for my sister living close! Some of you got to meet her back in November when she watched the shop for me so I could go to a wedding.

Here are a few photos from the Heart Fresh look:

Isn't this cupboard great? The doors on bottom are wainscot
the door on top is a glass window.
The pieces are seperate...the top could be screwed right to the wall
as a wall cupboard, and the height of the bottom is
like a pie safe, just not quite as wide!
I heart these wood trays for a candle on your coffee table
or kitchen island, or...
The lamp needs no words, LOVE IT!
Aren't the wool tulips wonderfully pretty? I heart them!
The heart candles burn totally down center so the light shines through the heart.
They are covered in glittter~lovely!
Plus you can use a tealight inside when the wax is burned down!

 Chenille hearts!
This is a very spacious storage box. It would look awesome on a bench
at the foot of the bed or on an end table to raise the height of a lamp!
The ceramic "vase" is acutally a wine bottle chiller,
but it can be used forflowers in summer
or these awesome berries and rusty stars all year!
Looks great with the berry vine placemat with the
 red check edge, doesn't it?
I managed to find some fun primitive
candle holders in different styles.

This is a sample of a few new necklaces I have. Handmade in USA!
I will be getting more jewelry in a few weeks...
So check back!

Fun Stuff

Tuesday was the gift market...I am very excited about the new things that will be coming! The jewelry has been a big hit, so I ordered more. The bracelets have been the most popular. They make wonderful gifts for Confirmation, graduation, or for yourself! ;) I found bling rings this time too! They are stretchy like the bracelets, so one size fits all! I LOVE them!

Also on the way are baskets, floral, birdhouses, signs for garden and for in your house, FLOWERS (have been so popular, I have reordered twice already!)
Surprise sale: 20% off everything Saturday, April 24th!!!!

Pretty and Prim

FIRST PRETTY:

I am excited about the jewelry. It is very beautiful at a price that will make you *smile*! All the sets you see are under $20. (necklace + earrings) except the long one w/ turquois is $24. There are also a few bracelets, and many more coming in. I ordered from two different companies; I am still waiting for one order.

My photos adequately display the pieces. Of course in person they will be much clearer. They all look awesome on black. There are a few that are better w/ brown (the turquois).

New and Exciting!

Monday I went to the Mpls Gift Mart...orders have already come in. Today you will find me unpacking boxes. As soon as I get things out I will post pics!

New today are barn stars from The Country House Collection (in several colors and sizes), also a hanging scale, barn star pedistils, berry vines, candle rings, and a beautiful burgundy pail for filling with floral or berry picks! And remember, if you come in the shop to buy Country House merchandise, there is no shipping!

TOTALLY NEW: I found  jewelry at Market that I couldn't resist!!! You will love it! It is pewter, silver, copper, brass colored with inspirational quotes, hearts or crosses. Great prices and a WONDERFUL IDEA FOR VALENTINES DAY!! Plenty of time to stop in and pick out what you want and then send in your significant other! Your daughter or mother would love them too! Necklaces, earrings, bracelets...

Finally I am restocking my Cheerful Giver candle supply!! Look for my annual "red candle sale" for Valentine's Day!

Well, I must go unpack boxes and do some rearranging! I will be back soon with photos!

New From Market...

Take a peek @ what I found on Monday...I took Kayla with me, which was very helpful. I would leave her waiting in line to pay, and I could go shopping at another booth. The lines were long this time, so I was glad she was free to come with me.
Lighted house could welcome your guests on your porch or in an entry way. Wouldn't this bench be a great addition to your entry or garden? This is a most creative idea! A solar light on a post saying, "welcome"!
Flowers might just be replacing stars...what do you think?
These would be awesome on your house, or garden shed...
Billy Jacob's art...everyone is loving it!
A few of you are looking for cows, this one is made of wood.
A new lamp...pineapples.

Memorial Day Weekend

With the wedding coming, I have been looking outside of the "box" when I go to the gift shows. It has been fun to go into showrooms that I don't normally visit. So you will see a few things that seem a bit different from my usual merchandise.
The easel above is one of them. Isn't it a great piece? Kayla wants to have a few around with photos or signs. We have not decided yet. We bought a large standing one, like you would use in a gallery. She is going to copy my sister-in-law and have everyone sign the matt in a frame for her wedding photo. We have been getting great ideas from other weddings and wedding planners.
The easel is only $15.00! The pitcher next to it is $20.00 ~a quart jar would sit inside for fresh flowers, or you could fill it with faux flowers like I did here.
This week has been intense gardening and flower purchasing for me. I have been digging and watering every day! I am excited to get alot of things done that I have wanted to do for years...what is it about event planning that produces "extra effort" ?
So far, we have cleared old dead trees that have been laying around for the past 8 years (since the week we moved in when we had a storm). We removed sod from areas that I usually have to get the push mower go go through, I am planting flowers in every area that I cant drive the riding lawn mower through. We have a scummy pond that has been surrounded by weeds. We burned the edges, and filled in around w/ rock. We still are not sure what we will do with it, it may be bone dry if the weather keeps up like this. Pray for rain!
Any advice on ponds would be appreciated too!
WHATS NEW???
It is time to be open four days a week again. This year, I am trying something different though, so please take note of my new hours.
WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY I will be open 10-4
THURSDAY....I will be open 12-6 (to accomodate late shoppers &
give myself an errand morning. I figured I would need that with the wedding plans.
Have a wonderful weekend...ENJOY!
And to any veterans, I say THANK YOU FOR SERVING OUR COUNTRY!
And for anyone who has a relative serving, I say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SACRIFICE!
And to anyone who lost someone to service to our country, I say THANK YOU.
May the Lord richly bless you!

New!

New arrivals @ Bittersweet Farm!!
Today I opened a box of wood flowers. I now have two
sizes! These are the smaller ones @ $7.50.
They look great in any springy display. I have a few
out on my porch with birdhouses.
The notepad in the front is new too! It is a great purse
notebook, complete with pencil and hard cover to
keep the pages from getting wrinkled.
What better than a practical pretty for $6. ?
On the right is the fridge~mate. It is a magnet
phone number holder. The top is magnetic also,
so when you open it up, it stays up!
Very heavy duty...$7.50
Country Blessings of flowers
and sunshine to you!
