In just a couple of weeks...it will be Deer Hunting opener & the shop-hopping weekend where we get a jump on Christmas shopping and decorating!!! I have been ordering and unpacking things for that weekend. Because of the lifestyle I have been forced to adopt in this living "in-between" what was and what will be...

I have had to play things by ear a little. So I will be open the deer hunting weekend. Then Saturdays through mid-December. {unless we get a buyer who wants to move in before Christmas!}

So what can you expect? Lots of the outdoor elements that I have carried every year...AND the staples of decorating: Lighting, lots of lighting...candles, battery operated tapers, and twig-lights. Also your favorite room mists, potpourri and refresher oils. Linens...table runners, placemats, etc.

A Time For Decisions

I am not a decisive person. I am a 'weigher', a deliberator, a cautious personality. Thankfully I married a risk-taking decisive, and driven man to balance me out. I have expressed on more than one occasion that I would never have had the guts to start a business if not for my years of having my fears refuted by being married to Dale...I learned that I could survive taking risks...and thrive!
(I also must mention my parents who 
invested immensely in my life, health, 
and in my business financially~
I am blessed and so very grateful!!!)

On September 15, 2004 I opened Bittersweet Farm, the little gift shop on our farm. It has been a great adventure. I have enjoyed every day of this experience, with the exception of the packing-peanuts. (I recall feeling the same way about rolling perms in my first career!) 

It has been nearly eight great years, and it is time for me to make a decision. Actually I have been deliberating over this  for the past two years... and its time to admit that those two have been financially challenging for the shop. With my husband's work circumstances, our lifestyle changes, and now with the sale of the farm, I have come to a decision. I have weighed options for moving on in another way, like renting space in town, but have discovered it just wouldn't be smart financially at this time.

So with all that, I have decided to finalize the closing of Bittersweet Farm. It is time to say 

My plan is to close out fall merchandise over the next two weeks, then take a few weeks to put the Christmas merchandise out and close out the Christmas merchandise in October...
